The Problem

Every day, more people are looking up and asking the same question: what is being sprayed above us?

Clear skies turn to hazy days too often. Weather modification programs are documented and operating in at least 9 US states — this isn’t speculation, it’s public record. Over 600 patents sit in the USPTO. Congress held a hearing called “Playing God with the Weather” in September 2025. Tennessee, Florida, and Montana have already passed bans. Twenty-two more states have bills pending.

The data exists — aircraft transponder signals are public, FAA registration is public record, congressional testimony is on the record. But nobody has built an open platform that ties it all together and puts it in the hands of everyday people.

That’s what SkyLedger is.

The Vision

SkyLedger is a community-driven transparency movement. We track and tag known weather modification operators. We aggregate facts and sourced information for people who are still skeptical and just starting to notice. We give citizens tools to take action — letter templates, phone scripts, legislation trackers, and direct connections to organizations already fighting this at the legal level.

And we do something nobody else does: we let citizens submit their own photos that become proven, court-admissible documentation through cryptographic hashing of the photo metadata. Every submission is timestamped, geolocated, and SHA-256 hashed — meeting Federal Rule of Evidence 901 standards. That means your photo of what’s happening in your sky is legally verifiable evidence that can’t be tampered with after the fact.

SkyLedger doesn’t do conspiracy. We don’t blame. We stick with the facts, cite our sources, and let the data speak for itself. When the same aircraft shows up in 47 citizen reports from 23 independent observers across 12 locations, you don’t need a theory — you need a ledger. That’s what this is.

What’s Been Built

SkyLedger is actively in development — 70% complete with core systems operational:

  • Real-time flight tracking dashboard — Interactive map showing live aircraft with color-coded overlays. Uses unfiltered ADS-B data that includes flights hidden from commercial trackers like FlightRadar24.
  • FAA ownership lookup — Click any aircraft to see who owns it. LLCs get investigated to find the real owner behind shell companies.
  • Citizen photo reporting — Upload what you see. Automatic GPS and timestamp extraction from your photo metadata. Every submission gets SHA-256 hashed for tamper-proof, court-admissible evidence.
  • Community flagging — Flag aircraft that look suspicious. Rate-limited and protected against gaming with anomaly detection.
  • Flight history tracking — Per-aircraft profiles showing where they’ve been, when they fly, altitude patterns, and how many times citizens have reported them.
  • Sourced knowledge base — 15+ pages of facts: documented weather modification programs, operator profiles, state legislation tracker, federal Clear Skies Act details, congressional hearing transcripts, funding network analysis, and 600+ patents indexed. Every claim sourced.
  • Citizen action toolkit — Contact your legislator (auto-fills by district), phone scripts, email templates, testimony guides for state hearings, FOIA request support.
  • Lobby tracker — Federal lobbying data showing who’s spending money to fight transparency legislation.

Tech stack: Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, Supabase (PostgreSQL), Leaflet.js mapping, TailwindCSS 4, deployed on Vercel.

What’s Next

Native mobile app (iOS + Android) — SkyLedger is becoming an app you carry in your pocket. See a plane? Open the app, snap a photo, and it’s instantly logged with GPS, timestamp, and cryptographic proof. Real-time flight overlay right on your phone’s camera view. Push alerts when known operators enter your area. This is the next major milestone.

Beyond the app:

  • Capture flight snapshots at the exact moment you submit a report (matches your photo to the specific aircraft overhead)
  • Evidence scoring with confidence tiers (Gold/Silver/Bronze) based on how much data corroborates each report
  • Per-aircraft ledger pages showing cumulative evidence from all reporters
  • Automated legislative scout that monitors state and federal bill movement, new weather modification permits, and industry activity — so the community doesn’t have to track it manually

What We Could Use Help With

The magic of this project isn’t any one person’s coding ability — it’s what happens when people with different perspectives, different knowledge, and different lived experiences all aim at the same problem. A pilot sees the data differently than a developer. A parent in Tennessee sees it differently than a researcher. Every angle makes the project sharper.

Here’s what would actually move the needle right now:

Anyone can do this today:

  • Submit citizen reports — See something in your sky? Take a photo with your phone. GPS and timestamp get extracted automatically. Your photo becomes cryptographically verified, court-admissible evidence. Point, shoot, upload.
  • File FOIA requests — We have templates ready. Pick your state agency, fill in your name, submit. You’re requesting public records that are legally required to exist.
  • Test the platform — Use it, try to break it, tell us what’s confusing. This requires zero technical ability and is incredibly valuable.
  • Share the sourced facts — Not opinions. The congressional testimony, the state bans, the 600+ patents. Let the documented record speak for itself.

If you have some tech comfort:

  • Run an ADS-B receiver — A $25 dongle picks up aircraft transponder signals in your area. You’d be expanding our coverage network. We’ll walk you through setup.
  • App development insight — Experience building iOS or Android apps, especially with React Native or similar cross-platform frameworks, would be huge as we move toward the mobile app.

Lend Your Claude:

  • Grab a task from our work queue — a markdown file with clear instructions. Run it through your AI assistant, drop the result back. 10 minutes of your time contributes to something bigger than any one person could build alone.

Legal or legislative expertise:

  • Help us track the 30+ state bills in play, support FOIA requests, or connect us with organizations already fighting this at the policy level.
